The Frontrunner Christchurch Marathon is scheduled for 13 April 2025 and includes a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and Kids MaraFun runs.
The marathon takes place in Hagley Park, presenting a flat, fast, and picturesque course that encapsulates the vibrant city atmosphere. The route covers several iconic landmarks including Christ’s College, Canterbury Museum, and Cambridge Terrace, while also incorporating traditional highlights such as Oxford Terrace and the Avon River.
The starting and finishing points for all races are located next to the Armagh Street gates of the park. The course is designed as a 10.5km lap with different numbers of laps for each event. The Kids’ Mara’Fun offers a safer and more scenic experience, with all options taking place within Hagley Park.
The Full and Half Marathon meet the standards set by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
