Wings for Life World Run: Auckland

The Wings for Life World Run is set to take place in Auckland on 4 May 2025. This unique event is characterized by an app-based catcher car virtual run instead of a traditional finish line. Participants run alongside each other, trying to stay ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. The race commences at exactly 11:00:00 PM, with the Virtual Catcher Car setting off 30 minutes after the start at a speed of 14 km/h, which gradually increases until all runners have been overtaken.

The race track for this event is the 400m lap at Go Media Stadium Mt Smart in Auckland. Participants are encouraged to run with friends, all while utilising the Wings for Life World Run App. A significant aspect of this event is that all donations and entry fees are invested directly into spinal cord research projects.
