The Whitianga Run Fest is scheduled for 10 May 2025, set in the coastal town of Whitianga, located in the Coromandel Peninsula. The event features four distinct courses, each showcasing the scenic beauty of the area. The starting point is at Ferry Landing, with the finish line located at Buffalo Beach Reserve.
The 6km course begins with a brief urban path segment before transitioning to well-formed trails on Shakespeare Cliff, culminating in a short ferry ride and a final sprint back to the finish. The 10km route closely follows the 6km path, including additional road sections around Cooks Beach before returning to the ferry.
The Half Marathon expands on the 10km course, providing a scenic exploration of Cooks Beach, the picturesque Purangi, and a hidden lake, before making the return journey. For families, a 3km loop course offers a flat, easy route starting and finishing at Buffalo Beach, primarily on hard-packed beach trails and footpaths.
The event is notable for its coastal views, varied terrain, and accessibility for participants of all ages. Further details regarding amenities or post-race activities will be provided as the event date approaches.
