The WAI2K event will take place on 23 November 2024, forming part of the WAI Running Festival held in the Wairarapa region. This endurance race features a challenging course that spans both 50km and 100km, set against the backdrop of the area’s rugged hills.
Participants will encounter a variety of terrain, including river crossings, riverbeds, dense scrub, and steep, technical descents. The mixed terrain is designed to test both mental resilience and physical stamina. Notably, the 100km Ultra serves as the Athletics NZ Long Course Trail Running Championship for 2024, adding a competitive edge to the event.
