The OxMan event, occurring on 30 November 2025, is a comprehensive long course triathlon festival. It offers a diverse range of race options such as distance triathlons, duathlons, aquabike, multisport, and standalone running events.
The races take place in the serene farmlands of North Canterbury, featuring tranquil roads and a charming country atmosphere. The event is organized by John Newsom, who is also the orchestrator of other notable events including the Pak’nSave Triathlon Festival, Sea2Sky Challenge, and JD Duathlon series.
The OxMan event aims to deliver a reasonably priced race experience that includes several, but not all, of the features typically found at Ironman and Challenge branded events.
The event features a variety of races. The running events include the OxDash and the OxRun, which is a half marathon. The triathlon and duathlon categories include the Junior Oxman for ages 10-16, the Mini Oxman, and the Oxman. There is also a multisport option that includes running, biking, and kayaking segments. Additionally, a kids’ duathlon is available for younger participants aged 5-9.
