Scarecrow Scamper Cross Country

The Scarecrow Scamper Cross Country will take place on 7 June 2025, located at Martin and Jill Bonny’s farm in Tapawera, approximately 50km or a 40-minute drive from Richmond. This event offers a traditional rural cross-country experience featuring laps through private farmland, rolling hills, and potentially some muddy terrain. The race is open to all ages and skill levels.

A shorter course is available specifically for children. The event schedule begins with on-site registration at the farm barn from 1 pm, followed by the event briefing at 1:45 pm. The walkers’ race commences at the same time as the briefing, while runners will start at 2 pm.

This event is free of charge, but participants are advised to consider joining the Waimea Harrier club, as the Scarecrow Scamper is part of their Winter Programme. The race is organized by the Waimea Harriers.
