On 10 November 2024, the Kāpiti Coast will host a running festival located in Paraparaumu Beach, approximately 30 minutes from Wellington’s CBD. The event features a range of courses set against the backdrop of Kāpiti Island, providing scenic views throughout. The routes comprise a blend of coastal roads and hard-packed gravel paths, creating a fast and flat terrain that is conducive to competitive running.
Participants will traverse picturesque river trails, tree-lined streets, and the scenic boardwalk along the Waikanae Estuary. The finish line is situated in a beachside park, allowing for post-race celebrations with friends and family in a relaxing environment.
The event is inclusive, welcoming walkers, buggies, and wheelchair athletes. This focus on accessibility enables a diverse range of participants to experience the beauty of the Kāpiti Coast while engaging in physical activity. The event is organized by Barefoot Sport, known for its commitment to community-oriented running events.
