The GJ Gardner Maraetai Half Marathon is scheduled to take place on 9 March 2025, forming part of the Auckland Half Marathon Series. The race provides participants with a scenic course that travels along the Pohutukawa Coast, offering expansive views of the Waitemata Harbour. The route includes a run along the flat Maraetai Coast Road, with notable sights such as Maraetai Wharf and picturesque beaches adorned with Pohutukawas. For those participating in the half marathon, the course will also traverse the Duders and Omana regional parks. Upon completion of the race, all participants will be awarded a commemorative medal. Participants in certain categories can also earn points for the ongoing Auckland Half Marathon Series.
The event is organised by Running Events. It is part of the Auckland Half Marathon Series, with the next race in the series being the Auckland Waterfront Half Marathon on 6 April 2025. Race categories include a race for children and various adult categories.
