The Emerson’s Dunedin Marathon is set to take place on 14 September 2025. This long-established event, first held in 1979, is renowned for its picturesque course. It begins at the Portobello Recreation Reserve and takes runners around the stunning Otago Harbour. The course for this event is AIMS Certified through 2026, making it a potential qualifier for international marathons, such as the Boston Marathon.
Other race courses originate within the Caledonian Ground. Regardless of the distance, all participants will cross the finish line in front of Emerson’s Brewery. The Caversham Harrier and Athletic Club are the organisers of this event. Please note that each race includes a variety of distances to accommodate different skill levels.
