The Christchurch Marathon is scheduled for 13 April 2025, featuring a variety of running events such as a Full Marathon, Half Marathon and Kids MaraFun runs. The race events are staged in Hagley Park, known for its flat and speedy course that offers a central city atmosphere. The route includes a scenic tour of iconic landmarks like Christ’s College, Canterbury Museum, and Cambridge Terrace, along with traditional highlights such as Hagley Park, Oxford Terrace and the Avon River.
The starting and finishing lines for all races are located next to the Armagh Street gates of the park. The course layout is based on a 10.5km lap system, with varying lap counts for different events. The Kids’ MaraFun has been enhanced for safety and scenery, with all course options situated within Hagley Park.
The Full and Half Marathon events are certified to meet international standards, as set by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
